The hotel was established around 30 years ago by a young Gambian entrepreneur. He started with a small shed providing grilled food and drinks to tourists and locals on the beach. Today it is an 18 room charming hotel literally steps away from the beach. The rooms and bungalows are affordable with an atmosphere that's authentic and welcoming. Leybato is ideal for families, student and elderly groups, couples, singles, backpackers and the more independent travelers who prefer laid back view and feel of the 'Smiling Coast, that is The Gambia.
Our clientele vary in nationality and from all walks of life, all have one thing in common; the love for peace, quietness, nature and the hospitable services in a friendly atmosphere. We offer Student Groups and Older Age Pensioners special discounts, so send us your dates and we will send you our special rates.
Everone is welcome to Leybato for meals, parties as non guest also to our restaurant and beach which is popular for fishing, stolling and beach sports.
